First Colony Center

This morning their was an anti-abortion rally in the intersection at First Colony Center. I am all for the right to rally and protest, but these ralliers took it a step too far and had almost life sized photos of late term abortions they were holding up. I had my 6 year old in the car who was scared and terrorized by the photos. I have seen many other people on Facebook who were upset, not by the protest, but by the photos. If you want to complain to First Colony here is the FB page https://www.facebook.com/FirstColonyCenter
Does anyone know the group responsible?

You are right, I am. But I am also upset and since I have the right to be upset, I can let First Colony know. I honestly don't think that First Colony approved this. Thanks for calling out my real name here Leonard. Don't we all use usernames for a reason?

Maybe if more of you pro-death people saw what an abortion really looks like, you will change your mind. Abortions are hidden and people do not know what it really is. Look what "Dr." Gosnell" did, he was caught, but there are many others out there chopping up babies who could be born alive and adopted by those of us who want a baby.

The most dangerous place for a baby is in it's mother's womb.

I heard about this. My daughter's friend was upset because her 6 year old was asking so many questions.

While I am pro-Life I think what they are doing is wrong. I am also pro-sex but that doesnt mean I want to do it where children are present.

Nothing hurts a movement more than things such as this.

First Colony's property manager just called me. He has been getting calls all day and the manager at Pier One called. The police were also called. But there was nothing they can do because it is considered public property. Even about the graphic photos. First Colony is really upset about it and they are glad that they are gone now.

I am not pro death. I am also not pro forced birth. I have had many friends who have gone through with abortions and have regretted it. I have not had one. I am for choice. I think a woman's body is her own to make decisions about. But my 6 year old does not need to see these images while we go to Target to pick up some necessities. There are better ways to protest and get their points across.

I would like to point out that most (not all) pro-life people are also pro-gun, pro-death penalty, pro-war, anti-universal healthcare, anti- supporting single parents care for their children, etc. So do we only care about life while it is in the mother's womb or do we care about life at all points?

That's a pretty damn wide brush you're wielding there.

I've seen rallies like that. They are only hurting themselves. I would liken those photos to what I would describe as "war porn" that you see on some sites.

I'm sorry your daughter saw the photos, and I'm glad that I didn't go to target this morning as planned

Are they still out there?

You should have shut up while you were ahead.

Easy answer: Because there are more than one dead baby that shouldn't be.

And showing a six your old pictures of that does what? I'll give you a clue - it polarizes people. Those who are anything less than adamantly anti-abortion are turned off by it, and they don't want to be associated with people who think it's appropriate to show pictures of dead babies to kids.

If you want to hurt your cause, keep on with your bad self. These tactics are very similar to WBC, and we see how many people they convert with their tactics.

Maybe it would be better for the anti-abortion folks to project movies of the intrauterine ultrasounds of the beating hearts of those babies. THEN show the photos of the results. Too obscene for public viewing? How about the process by which those babies died is even more obscene?

Showing these pictures to children, who could have been diverted from them by their parents, counteracts the pro-death indoctrination in the State schools, where their are bombarded with pro-death, secularist messages.

And then the old people are being targeted with euthanasia to say money. And Pier One is anti-Catholic so their views mean nothing in St. Mary's County.

And churches wonder why less and less people identify themselves with them.

You know that is the most asinine comment I have ever read. Children should not have to think about this sort of thing, they often notice things before their parents, maybe the parent was concentrating on driving. Those images could scar a child, give them nightmares, etc.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

Showing pictures to the kid will make him upset, and the mom will explain how the anti-abortion people are crazy idiots and you should avoid them at all costs. Congratulations, you have turned another generation of kids toward pro-abortion. If that's your goal, you've succeeded stunningly well.

Yep. :yay:

I loathe zealots who think it's okay to overtly and intentionally offend others for the sake of their cause. This doesn't do anything except make them look like crazies; there are much better ways to get your point across.
