Just heard that one of the seniors in my homeroom got gravely injured by a hit & run driver on Brandywine road at 3:30 this morning...both legs crushed, 14 stitches in the scalp. rods, screws & pins are holding him together from the knees down.
The kid was coming home from our Junior-senior banquet...No alcohol involved from his side. Senior exams are this week and then their trip to Florida..followed by graduation-possibly he will miss all of it.
Do a favor for someone attending a prom/banquet... be ready to drive someone home that is too tired or too (?)_________ to have good judgement. They are just too young to have a tragedy like this ruin their youth.
His name is Brent Goad (son of the Goad Lumber owner on Brandywine.)
