    A real sea monster

From American Live Wire: Giant Isopod Found Burrowing Into Submarine

Many believed this to be some kind of a parasite, but sources have told us otherwise. This is what is known as a Giant Isopod: An undertaker of the deep. They are known to eat dead fish and bacteria, and are able to grow larger than 12 inches. Sources have said that there are parasitic isopods, but that they are much smaller than the one shown above.
Now what was this creature doing? Apparently it was found trying to burrow its way into a submarine. A supposed normal feat for the larger isopods, but not altogether normal for the parasitic forms.

You normally find the smaller cousins within the gills of fishes. A few years back I found one on a snapper gill cover, must have been there for quite a while since the gill cover had been deformed to accommodate it.

It looks like a combination of a Potato Bug, and a Horse Shoe Crab. YUK!!
