The group apologized for the gridlock they’ll likely cause.

“What could have been a one or two hour ride through will now likely be an all day event,” the organizers said in the Facebook post.

The ride kicked off at the Harley Davidson in Fort Washington, Md. at 11 a.m.

So let me get this straight. There's so many that have shown up that they are now unable to ride through DC as a group and instead will ride around the beltway?

The way I understand it, the permit was denied because they wanted to ignore traffic lights and such... as a large group, they cannot do that and it makes it tough because it is a work-day.... SO... although the permit was denied, they still wanted the ability to ride as a large group which is what they are doing..

I'm sure if I'm wrong on that somebody will come along quickly and correct me.

There's so many they can't fit them all in DC.

There's so many that they won't be closing streets, intersections or giving police escort. The DC and Natl Parks people pretty much threw up their hands and said, follow traffic laws, we can't keep the intersections closed off.

I wonder how many showed up for the Million Muslim March?

I do feel for anybody who is commuting in/out DC. They should definitely expect delays.

trafficland is starting to show motorcycles at Constitution and 15th St. Surprisingly, quite a few cameras aren't working now.

I liked their FB page and people have been commenting that around the time the first bikers show up on camera, the cameras stop working. WTF is that about?
