BALTIMORE -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry is launching ads against Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley.

WTOP said Wednesday the ads are set to begin airing in the D.C. region this week. Perry, a Republican, urges Maryland businesses to move to Texas, if they are tired of Maryland taxes.

Everyone knows Maryland is one of the worst states for taxes. I haven't seen if other states are doing this.

Owemalley is pizzed off too. He's calling Perry to come to Maryland to see all the 'successful' programs Maryland has. I think Perry would grant Owemalley all the illegals who get 'hung up' before they leave Texas and would ship them to Owemalley's collection for free.

The only successful program Maryland has is an extremely hale tax system.

And what programs are they Governor? Casa de Maryland - waste of the taxpayers money on illegals that should be deported. Schools - all the money goes to his voting base in the Northern counties and Baltimore. Gun Control - SB281 took away Constitutional rights from law abiding gunowners and instituted a licensing program to line his pockets with more money. Where are all these successful programs again?

Has Beretta moved out yet? Gov Scott of Fl said he'd be looking at that one.

lets break this down on that school money.
it goes to, in order of waste, Baltimore City, Prince Georges County, Montgomery county then Baltimore county.
All other counties in Maryland are running around searching for any dropped change on the floor.

Saw this on FB. Maybe Montgomery and PG can just join DC? There would still be Batimore but maybe the rest of the state would have a chance for representation.

I have to speak up for Baltimore County Public Schools. I go up there to various schools a couple times a year on evaluation visits and they have their #### together.

Is there waste? Of, course. Any large institution has a certain amount of waste. BCPS, too. But the school programs are good and they do an awful lot with a little bit.

That's why I put Baltimore County schools at the end of the priority list. Not as much waste, better grades overall, however still bleeding the other counties for the money.

if they took PG, Montgomery, Howard and Baltimore county (including the city), there would be no break in the land mass for DC, then have Carroll and Harford counties absorb a thin section of Northern Baltimore county to tie it all together.. That could work.

When Gov. Perry tells the feds to take back their Ft. Hood and all their other federal jobs, we can talk about how awesome he is at job creation. When his state is no longer enjoy the windfall of $100 oil, another sector the good Gov has nothing to do with, then, let's talk.

This is not to say our esteemed governor is doing some sort of great job. Maryland has ENORMOUS built in economic advantages and we're not doing so well. I'm just kinda over this vacuous Texas faux swagger crap.

I was just thinking something similar

Texas isn't all that great either. There are some things that are better, but there are also many things are that are not

Texas has the largest Mexican border, plus the Alamo, which I never think they got over (I know off topic, but I think has a valid presence to how Perry has responded). I lived in Houston (Kingwood/Woodlands) for 10 years. Gov Perry is licking his wounds at a run for POTUS, that failed, and he wants to equate himself to Bush. I do think that he has some good points, but I don't agree that he should attack another governor. What does that accomplish? I thought the bottom line was to get state's rights back, in order not to succumb to a socialist government. We don't like O'Malley, as a rule, but Perry's tactic seems, to me, to do more damage than good. One nation under God, indivisible...

I have ZERO problem with Perry soliciting business for his state and less than zero problem with him knocking my governor. Just make a good argument. That's all I ever ask.

Competition is GOOD.

Business is booming in texas. Remember the unregulated fertilizer plant?

:buddies:
If that was the case Maryland's businesses should be booming since we are right next to the largest unregulated fertilizer plant in the country........the White House and Congress.

And you want to talk about unregulated, how many illegals are running around this state thanks to Owe Malley and the eff'ing liberals in Annapolis?

And you're an idiot if you don't think what happen in Texas can't happen in this state, do you really think MOM is spending money on safety inspections. News flash for you sunshine, he's spending money on entitlement benefits and illegals........and trips over seas.

Does anyone make anything in Maryland anymore? At least, anything heavy industry wise that could blow up if things went awry?
