Progressivism: returning to their imperialist root

Just saw this guy on Stossel. He basically posited that Progressives are inherently imperialist war-mongers (not sure he put it quite that way), and that what we are seeing with Obama, Syria, and so many liberals calling for intervention is a return to their hawkish ways. He also touched on Vietnam, and the idea that the left being anti-war was actually an anomoly, brought on by the massive amount of death and destruction as a result of their own policies.

Liberal Media's Call for Bombing in Syria Ignores History | Mediaite

In the debate on Syria, progressive pundits are letting us know that do-gooders can’t be peaceniks. Recently, pro-war commentators on liberal media outlets have greatly outnumbered the doves, with MSNBC leading the way. These humanitarian interventionists understand what the most famous progressives of all time made clear, that the obligation to rescue the unfortunate comes with an obligation to kill. What they don’t understand or willfully ignore is the lesson of history, which is that when the United States has taken on the responsibility for the well-being of humanity, it has destroyed far more lives than it has saved.

Like many liberals who are asked to explain why Syria will be a good war if Iraq was a bad one, Dexter Filkins in the New Yorker wrote, “This time it’s different… What can America do? It’s not unreasonable to ask whether even a well-intentioned American effort to save Syrians might fail, or whether such an effort might pull America into a terrible quagmire…. But how much longer are we going to allow those questions to prevent us from trying?”

Even though Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post is aware that “History says don’t do it” and that “Most Americans say don’t do it,” he still insisted that “President Obama has to punish Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad‘s homicidal regime with a military strike — and hope that history and the people are wrong.”

No Use for Donk Twits
I would hazard a guess that Progressives with Flo, just aren't as intelligent as they keep telling us.

The Bolsheviks (Hillary Clinton's heros) were king of all progressives. They murdered and tortured 10's of millions. They make Hitler look like a wanna-be.

Would help if people had their facts right. The only person I've seen supporting intervention on MSNBC is Lawrence O'Donnell and he's just an Obamabot anyways. Obama could commit murder and LOD would defend him.

From what I've seen, Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, Chuck Todd, Mika Brzezinski and Ed Schultz have all criticized President Obama for his handling of the Syria clusterphuque and said we should not intervent.
