Erotic musical based on Clinton and Lewinsky would be set in Kremlin

A Russian composer is hoping to stage an erotic musical based on Bill Clinton's relationship with Monica Lewinsky. But the action would be switched to the Kremlin and the main characters would be Vladmir Putin and secretary Masha Lewinsonova.

Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta said composer Vitaly Okorokov was behind the project in the city of Saratov. Okorokov has already had meetings with representatives of Putin's administration and informed them about his idea, the paper said. However, it did not add how they reacted.

The art council of the Saratov Opera Theatre will consider Okorokov's plans in November. The authors of the project hope that a call from a state office will not ruin their plans. If everything goes well, rehearsals will start in January of the year 2003.

Boston transit police use music to deter loitering teenagers

Boston police are piping George Gershwin music into a subway station to deter teenagers from hanging around. Local transit police are also using the music of John Philip Sousa to keep the teenagers away from Forest Hills station. Officials say their plan is working as they've managed to reduce the number of young people loitering there.

The Boston Globe says several teenagers are said to have complained about the music. William Fleming, the Authority's acting chief said: "We tried arresting the kids last year. That didn't work at all. We just wanted to try something different." One station employee added: "Music soothes the savage beast. They're leaving, and I ain't seen no fights."
