There's some real shockers on that list:

Atlanta mayor has been a Democrat since 1942...
Boston mayor has been a Democrat since 1930...
Houston mayor has been a Democrat since at least 1957 with the exception of 1968-73 and 78-81...
New Jersey legislature has been controlled by Democrats since...forever?

I'm sure the Democratic party was really worried about these races. :sarcasm:

De Blasio.

:killingme

He honeymooned in Cuba, worked alongside the Sandinistas in Nicaragua, visited the USSR the same year Reagan called it the Evil Empire, and his platform is the stuff of which progressive dreams are made.

I'll just put this riiigghht here.

Candidates backed by soon to be former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg were rejected by voters across the country on Tuesday.

Members of Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition were defeated by conservative challengers in multiple instances, according to America Rising.

Mayor Jackie Holcombe was defeated in a North Carolina election after she attempted to get local stores to stop selling semi-automatic rifles. Gow Fields, another member of Bloomberg’s coalition, fell to a challenger in Lakeland, FL. Mayor John Callahan, of Bethlehem, PA, was also dealt defeat, in what local papers are calling a “stunning upset.”

Bloomberg’s injection of money into Virginia’s election were also ineffective, with speculation that Bloomberg’s gun ads actually hurt Democratic candidates in the state.

Bloomberg also backed Virginia house of delegates challenger Kathleen Murphy in Northern Virginia. Murphy lost the election.

I almost feel bad for New Yorkers, but not really.

It was only a good day because it wasn't a week or two later, then it would have been a bad day for the dems. Give it time, even the dems are getting really upset with the king.
