ReCycling Containers

One of the BEST things I've seen come out of my tax dollars are the new, large wheeled recycling containers. We now put about everything in there. Junk mail, cardboard packaging, as well as the normal stuff. I made a place in the garage so we don't need to tramp outside to throw away bottles and cans. It's great. Cuts down the trash for landfill etc. I know there's lots of debate as to the value of recycling but they sure are getting more of the stuff we usually put into the garbage. Well done, whom ever came up with this idea.

Except for raw garbage, some food containers and cat litter, the Charles County recycling pickers are getting everything I used to throw in the rubbish barrel. Soon I'll ask Evergreen for a once a week pickup instead of twice a week. (I wonder if they offer a twice monthly rate).

I've even broken it down further. Organic waste now goes into my composter. 90% of the rest is recycles, and the balance is what hits the landfill.

One trip every week or two to the convenience center is all it takes.
