Before I read your post, I was curious what the hobie part of your name was. Now I know. I just buried my 1979 Hobie 16 of 32 years, sail #39702 (tequila sunrise), two years ago. Both hulls caved in, got nearly $100 from the aluminum for scrap (it was top notch aluminum) but what a blast she was!

I paid $3000, assembled out of the shipping crates, w/trailer, out the door. The prices now are outrageous. But if I did get another, it would be the traditional 16.

I have 4 hobies with 6 sets of sails. Long story how I ended up with six sets of sails. The sails are rolled up and in the shed. As soon as the weather is a little better, I'll let you know. I need to inspect all of them. I start sailing in the Spring. I plan on having a Southern Maryland Cat regatta this summer.
