NAS Patuxent River will open on a 3-hour delayed arrival schedule. Admin leave will be granted for the hours before the set delayed arrival. Critical employees must report to work as previously scheduled. All other employees may take unscheduled leave, telework or leave without pay. Employees choosing not to use unscheduled annual leave, telework, or LWOP should report 3 hours later than their regular arrival time. Notify your supervisor of your intentions as soon as possible.
CSM Campuses will be closed Thursday, Feb. 13 for morning and day classes. Check College of Southern Maryland by 2 p.m. for update on evening classes.
The St. Mary’s County Board of Appeals scheduled hearing for Thursday, February 13 has been canceled. The following advertised case will be rescheduled at a later date:
VAAP #13-1580, Pyles Property: Variance from Schedule 32.1 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to reduce the required 25-foot front yard setback to construct an addition to the existing, detached garage. The property is located at 38529 Dorothy Mae Ct., Clements, MD as shown on tax map 24, grid 19, parcel 218 in the Rural Preservation District (RPD).
The St. Mary's College of Maryland music department has announced that the concert planned for Feb. 13 with musician-in-residence Brian Ganz and piano faculty member Beverly Babcock has been postponed due to expected inclement weather. The concert has been divided into two separate and upcoming events, both to be held in the college's Auerbach Auditorium of St. Mary's Hall (18952 E. Fisher Rd, St. Mary's City, MD 20686). On Tuesday, Feb. 18, at noon, Ganz will play a solo recital of works by Frédéric Chopin, including rarely heard mazurkas and variations, popular and beloved waltzes, the great Ballade No. 4 and the sparkling Scherzo No. 4. Then on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 8 p.m., Babcock and Ganz will perform Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor. Ganz will also discuss the work, which Chopin completed at the young age of 20.
Due to winter storm all Recreation and Parks programs held inside St. Mary's County Public Schools are canceled for Thursday, February 13.
All other Recreation and Parks programs and Recreation Centers will remain closed until 12 noon. The Wicomico Shores Golf Course, Pro Shop and Riverview Restaurant will remain closed on Thursday due to the winter weather.
Due to inclement weather, Charles County Government is closed today, Thursday, Feb. 13. Essential personnel and employees required to maintain operations during inclement weather are to report to work as scheduled.
Curbside recycling collection will not take place on Thursday, Feb. 13. If neighborhood roads are passable on Friday, Feb. 14, Thursday B collection will take place on Friday, and Friday B collection will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15.
VanGO transit service will not operate today, Feb. 13. The Maryland Transit Administration has canceled all Washington, D.C. service statewide, including commuter bus service.
