Remember back in 2009. Law enforcement officials at the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC), said the Gadsden flag "is the most common symbol displayed by militia members and organizations", and possibly indicative of “terrorist or criminal operations.

Also in 2009, anti-Tea Party folks said the flag represented a historical indicator of white resentment against blacks.

Last year, the mayor and the city council of New Rochelle, New York asid the flag is a symbol so “offensive,” so drenched with “right-wing connotations,” that it must immediately be taken down from the New Rochelle Armory.
