Mini-Split A/C Heat Pump / A/C

I have a Mitsubishi Mini-Split that is less than 2 years old and the compressor failed, anyone had this happen? HVAC man who origionally installed the unit convinced Mitsubishi to replace the complete ouside unit. Still cost me $500 in labor which pretty much negates the savings in electricity thus far. This failure is rare I'm told, must be; took almost a week to get it back running. I wouldn't recommend these as a primary source of heat or air, you could get uncomfortable without it waiting for repair.
