By now, they probably have settings where you can 'home' it to the ATV, set a minimum altitude and it will just follow you around.

Yup. Have it play scout, have a big display on the bars, be able to see what is coming up ahead, ravines, washed out sections, take some of the "Oh, ####!" out of the next rise. Find that trail that heads back to the truck.
