Was sitting here in my hotel room drinking coffee and watching the TV and , lo and behold, up pops a short report with video on current "hot" project. I didn't even know the project was even supposed to be that wide open (and first I've heard about the gummint actually buying one too. ?) The video on TV was from this PR clip on the web site:

The piece was on Fox..haven't seen it show up on their web site yet.

very cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!! has it worked out of PAX?

No. All testing we've done so far has been conducted from Portsmouth NB (Kittery, ME). We have a "hangar" on the base and the craft is launched and recovered using a boat ramp right on the base.

It could end up at Pax though, if the Navy decides to proceed with their own evaluations...at the AMTEC facitilities (used to be SESTF and STU when we ran it..). Or it could end up in Little Creek instead. Or Panama City... Really hard to say at this point.

Shot of GHOST in her hangar here..and you can see "most" of the underwater parts, but not the propeller setup.

Cool project.

It has been an interesting one. We've been involved for 2 1/2 years now and have seen a lot of progress along the way. I hope that the funding is in place soon to build the pre-production version; we've accumulated a ton of design changes we want to do as a result of all the testing with the prototype.

An interesting aspect of the craft is its engines; they are standard-issue T-53-L model turbines as used on AH-1/UH-1 choppers. Plenty of support for those already in place in USN/USMC organizations.
