Florida shootout leaves deputy, gunman dead

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A man set his house on fire and then fatally shot a sheriff's deputy and wounded another Saturday when they responded to the scene, a government official said.

A Tallahassee police officer who lived nearby heard the shooting, threw on his bullet-resistant vest, grabbed his gun and ran to the house. The officer shot the suspect dead, the official said.

The wounded deputy was saved by his vest and his injuries are not believed to be serious, the official said.

So sorry for the death of this officer and praise for the officer that saved us the price of a trial and keeping this POS in jail for the next 20 years.
