It's a he said, she said. How can you clear your name if the accusations turn out to be false? Would pressing charges of making a false statement prevent other victims from coming forward?

Dante Cunningham's basketball exile is over.

The New Orleans Pelicans signed Cunningham to give them some much-needed depth at forward and said he would be available Thursday night on the road against Golden State.

Cunningham was charged in April with felony domestic assault after his girlfriend at the time accused him of choking her and slamming her head against a wall. She also accused him of sending her threatening messages. The charge was dropped in August after an investigation uncovered inconsistencies in her story.

Cunningham urged authorities to pursue charges against Miryah Herron for making false allegations, but Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman told the AP in October that he was reluctant to do so in part because of the message it could send to victims of domestic violence.

He was a free agent and no team wanted to deal with the baggage after the Ray Rice incident. So the guy is unfairly punished for something someone accused him of doing. Now before anyone gets the idea that the player probably did hit her, let's look closer at the accuser.

A man from Superior is accused of arranging drug deals while in jail.

28-year-old Carlos Coleman has been ordered to stand trial on two felony charges of being a party to delivering heroin.

Prosecutors said Coleman called his 23-year-old girlfriend from his Douglas County Jail cell – and while jailers were listening in, he gave her step by step instructions for diluting and packaging heroin.

Officials said they monitored a drug delivery a few hours later. And after Coleman called her the next day, they arrested him on the new charges.

He was already facing drug charges from last December – and he’ll enter pleas to those on Friday as well.

Meanwhile, the girlfriend – Miryah Herron of Hermantown Minnesota – has also been ordered to stand trial on two counts of delivering heroin.
