So, crap goes bad with the huge rocket motors you are sitting on top of on launch, how the hell do you get outta Dodge? Why more rockets, of course...........

1. Main escape motors take you clear of whatever catastrophe you are escaping, note the sideways thrusters up top steering this whole thing.

2. After you are clear, this thing swings your capsule around, then blows itself clear.

3. Stabilizer chutes deploy, to orient the capsule for the main chutes to deploy.

4. They cut loose, you go into free fall for a looooong second while the mains deploy, then you float back to earth........


Man, what a ride. If you don't come out of the capsule gibbering like an idiot, you must have liquid nitrogen for circulatory fluid.

Looks pretty straight forward to me. At least there are some brains left in the USA that have not been deleted since the big NASA cuts. Glad this test worked 4.5 years ago, and hope it never has to be used in the future.:yay:
