Could it really be that simple?

Has girl of eight found a cancer cure? Scientist parents discover antibiotics can kill cells after their daughter suggested they try it over the dinner table

In most families, dinner table conversation is restricted to what happened at school or whether homework has been completed.

But Michael Lisanti asked his eight-year-old daughter how she would cure cancer, and it seems she may have got it right.
Camilla Lisanti suggested using antibiotics, ‘like when I have a sore throat’.

Her parents, a husband-wife cancer research team were sceptical at first but tested out her theory in their Manchester University lab. And to their surprise, several cheap and widely-used antibiotics killed the most dangerous cancer cells.

By the treatment center folks, absolutely.

By the entire medical, pharmaceutical, and research establishment, along with their government partners. I have become a pessimist when it comes to health research. It has become all about the big money and government subsidies. Cure cancer and a lot of people are put out of work. And something this simple? No freaking way.

And this is the direct result of socialized medicine or socialized cars or energy or whatever. Heck, the military, which HAS to be a socialized institution, is the blue print for how all this works over time; it becomes more about jobs, more about projects, turf, politics, and less about the core mission.

And I am not saying this as a bad thing but, this is observable and, as such, that means we have something to look at, consider and then go from there. Work in DNA study and research has long been slowed and restricted BECAUSE of the potential it holds. We're not that far from being able to turn cancer OFF. But, as you say, what about all those jobs and money?

Militarily, I've never had much problem with the waste because, at some point, we're likely to need the troops, the programs, the weapons so, something costing 10 times budget, as long as it works, anh, that's waste we can live with BECAUSE of how important it could be.

Medicine, man, that is a LOT of educated, well paid people who we would literally have ZERO need for. What then?

That's why nuke has for so long been restricted; puts too many people out of work. Work that is absolutely not necessary, wasteful, polluting and so forth.

That's what out politics SHOULD be about; accepting things for what they are and THEN debating their merits. But, we refuse to do that. Everything has to be this argument over patriotism, whose #### don't stink, the evils of capitalism, the evils of socialism, the endless, incessant need to combat and demonization, the black and white, the right and wrong over issues that are NOT.

But we create those “things for what they are”. We create environments that force us into positions of debate; some of it seemingly for the sole purpose of created division. It’s what this current president (and his progressive ilk) lives for. Divide a nation so that nation relies on the very people dividing it to ‘fix’ it. Create a monstrosity of a program (i.e. medical research) with the sole purpose of making us all feel we are solely dependent on it to solve our medical problems; pay trillions into it so that it could never be shut down because of the economic impact it would have. We just had to have a new agency (DHS) in response to an attack; when all the tools already existed with existing agencies to solve the problems of broken communications between intel agencies. Now it’s there and can’t be shut down because of all the jobs that would be lost. I know this sounds off topic, but Montgomery County is considering starting school later in the morning. They said it would cost $6 million to make this happen. I’m thinking – WHY in the hell would it cost anything more than a few hours and 10 people earning their normal salary readjusting schedules?

The point is… we create these crazy ‘things for what they are’; not for anything other than big money.
