Girl, 11, scares off home intruder...

A shotgun-toting, 11-year-old Michigan girl scared away an intruder Friday after he tried to gain entry into her house while she was home alone, MLive.com reported.

"The 12-gauge shotgun is her weapon," Lapeer County Sheriff Detective Sgt. Jason Parks told the paper. "She and her father are into hunting and avid sportsmen. She was familiar with that weapon."

Maybe it was a small town, story doesn't say. I would leave mine home for short periods of time at that she occasionally. :shrug:

On one hand, it is good for her mental health that she didn't pull the trigger, on the other hand it would make me feel all warm and fuzzy had he taken a slug or two to the chest. Getting offed by a 11 year old girl must rank pretty high on the dumbest way to die as a criminal scale.
