Tom Cotton: Don't know much about him, but I like this.

The only problem with the remarks of Mr. Cotton is that this country is supposed to operate under a rule of law. We push our values on other nations and hold ourselves out to be a shinning light of democracy and human rights.

Terrorists either should be killed on the battlefield or captured, tried, convicted and a sentence carried out. Those, in case you have forgotten them, are the ideals this country was founded on...they are not just to be used when it is convenient (which seems to be the manner in which Hijinx views this country).

We are supposed to be better than this...but ignorance, as is exemplified every day on this site...now rules over intelligence.

I agree with you 100%. Those in Gitmo should have been tried and executed long ago.

But you see we were trying to treat them like POW's,
POW's are kept until the war ends and released.
But you cannot release murderous terrorists back into the world. They continue to kill people.
So what do you do with them?

Like you said, you try them and execute them.
I agree with you all the way.

PS. Of course the smart thing is to take no prisoners in the first place. Wink-wink

No Use for Donk Twits
Cotton did ask the esteemed gentleman if Gitmo was open before many terrorist acts had happened such as 9/11, USS Cole, Beirut, etc. The obvious answer was that Gitmo detainee facility wasn't open. Thus his followup remarks covered in the article. Finally the legislative co-equal branch of government is holding the executive co-equal branch of government accountable. No heroes, just folks doing their jobs, of which we see very little.
