Most of the Bay is frozen over

Ice covers vast expanses of the Chesapeake Bay – likely more than at any time in years.

“Most of the Bay is frozen,” says Brian Jackson, an analyst at the National Ice Center. “The coverage extent is way above normal.”

The ice has stopped the Chesapeake’s Tangier Island from receiving seaport deliveries, and the Army National Guard has had to fly-in provisions. Writes the Associated Press

Wouldn't the "freeze" be good for the bay in a sense???

Last year there was an awful lot of people getting sick from bacteria in our waters and perhaps this will help???

I have a pond full of Koi and I think my pond is frozen solid.

I dunno.... everyone is telling me they can be frozen solid but will thaw & be just fine. I do hope so.

I hope the ice kills some of the vegetation on a few places that I fish. Some of those waters have runaway weeds.
