This picture is taken from Cedar Point Hollow and is looking across the Bay to Hooper Island Light on the Eastern Shore. In actuality, you really can see the light house on a clear day. It is about 8 miles across the Bay. However, most of the land (Eastern Shore) you see behind the lighthouse is actually a mirage. The light house is also magnified by the mirage. If you are interested, google Fata Morgana (mirage).
