Bad tasting ice from frig ice maker

One time my mom chopped up some green peppers and froze them. Every time I'd add ice to water it'd taste like fajitas :ohwell:

Ice cubes easily pick up odors from the fridge. Make sure things like peppers, onions, garlic, etc.... are well sealed.

I just moved into the house and the frig is empty except for a box of baking soda.

Oh, ok. As was suggested, change the filter, wash the inside of the fridge (I use chlorine based products) and run a few loads of ice thru and toss them. As you use it more, the taste will go away.

I used Lysol once to clean the frig and my wife nearly killed me! Change the filter though and run at least one or two cycles thru it....

Thanks all! Good suggestions.

Are you on a well? I am and they didn't drill deep enough. So we get that sulfur smell really bad. I had to install a whole house filter (I have to change the cartridge once a month). I think the icemaker filter should take care of the smell too, so (as someone already suggested) it could be old.
