A Dulles Question

Had to drive to Dulles the other day for the first time. How do the tolls work on the Dulles Access Road? Asking for future reference. I have EZ-Pass.

For a bit more clarity - there are no tolls if you are going straight from the beltway to Dulles Airport. If you use the non-Dulles lanes (you want to get to stuff between beltway and Dulles), you have to pay tolls.

So just watch the signs and be sure to take the left Dulles-only exit immediately after you get onto the access road.

Right after you get off onto that road from the beltway, there's a left exit onto the airport express route, takes you right past all the tolls.

Depending on the time of day, definitely take the express lanes.

As said before, no toll when heading directly to the airport (it's its own road adjacent to the toll road)

No, only one lane makes the cutover, as you can see here. It's not a special lane on the tollway, its a separate roadway. Leaving, take the exit from the airport that's labeled for the Beltway, the left lane here.......

Be careful on the way back out of the airport. You have to make a sudden cut over that can catch you by surprise.
