Pending trip. I have ordered some from Bank of Former America and that worked ok.
What I have discovered is that a number of people return from Europe, have small denominations & coins...and just stash it, hoping to return.
I ALSO discovered that if anyone still has the old MARKS,...they can be exchanged at certain state banks in Germany...no-where else. I would be willing to attempt that, as long as Interpol doesn't get excited.
Bottom line:
a) I am going to Germany (again)
b) If you wish to cash out your Euros & marks into USD, I will check daily exchange rates in international markets and give you the current rate without the ridiculous bank handling fee.
c) PM me if you want an exchange,...we could meet at a Library or even a bank.
Totals of 1-3.00 may not be worth our time to exchange...might have to dig farther back in the drawer or raid the penny jar.
