The Washington Examiner is reporting that Sanders was appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, when he said that a gun manufacturer should be no more responsible for a murder performed by their product than a hammer manufacturer is responsible “if someone beat someone over the head with a hammer.”

And then he came out with THIS: “The majority of gun owners are responsible and obey the law.”

Sanders was taking on detractors who have pointed to a bill he voted for that shields firearms manufacturers from being sued by gun violence victims. Presidential rival Hillary Clinton made reference to this bill in New Hampshire Saturday, saying that it was the “height of irresponsibility not to talk about it.”

“I come form a state that has virtually no gun control but the people of my state understand that guns in Vermont aren’t the same thing as guns in Chicago,” he said.

that last part makes NO Sense .... Guns are Tools no matter what state you live in

This comes from the guy that said women who don't have enough orgasms are more likely to get cervical cancer. And, this guy is running for prez. He makes Hillary look good!

Socialism, fascism, communism, anyone?

He should have said that women who do not get enough orgasms turn out corrupt, mean, and nasty like Hillary.

He said that years ago before The Hill was on the horizon, but you make a good point. So, a scorned cheated on woman is what we get for prez? Yikes! She will take her anger out on America plus the fact that she is a lying, conniving, elitist, power hungry, member of the NWO biatch that even her SS guards cannot stand; to mention a few adjectives. Hold on America and God bless us. :patriot:

He talked about Chicago and Los Angeles, where minorities are incredibly disproportionately over-represented in illegal gun use. Sanders represents Vermont, where minorities are incredibly disproportionately (to the national percentages) under-represented in existence. He was say, in effect, white people can use guns responsibly, but minorities in cities cannot.

He didn't realize that's what he was saying, but that's what he was saying.

I think the implication was pretty clear. He obviously was contrasting the owners and not the guns. But to be PC he had to say the guns were different and not the people.

I think you're right - the owners and their intended uses. Another inference that can be made by what he said is that it is certainly ok to use your guns for hunting and defense from wild animals and such, but he implied there is not a valid reason for people to need them when the population density gets too high, or where general hunting is not the intended use.

Why anyone thinks that the individuals who just fought a war against their government with mostly privately-owned guns put a specific clause in their new government constitution that prohibits the government from regulating gun ownership only meant it for hunting is beyond me, but it seems Bernie is not an avid "no guns ever" progressive, he's a "guns are only for hunting" progressive.

It's a start. And every single national GOP'er, including all 3,871 contestants for the current Least Offensive GOP'er '16 should come out and say "Bernie is right on this one."

He IS right that it is the owner, not the gun. I think that has been the position of the GOP for a couple of months at least now.
