Cape May

Considering going to Cape May next month. Since we've never been there, I'm wondering if anyone, who has, could give some feedback. I've been reading about the different beaches -- are there any you'd recommend over the others? What's the water temperature like (in Aug)? TIA.

My son was stationed there years ago. It's beautiful, but very expensive. Bring a lot of cash with you, because most places don't accept credit cards. Things may have changed since we were there in about 2006.

Take the ferry over from Rehoboth, its pretty neat trip with the car, did it a couple years ago.

I seem to remember that you had to purchase a beach pass to use the beaches in "downtown" Cape May. That was back in the 80's though.
