There was a cloud cover. It was unsafe to be driving without lights.

On my drive from Waldorf to Pax, I see somebody like this nearly every morning (sans fart can). The one that really freaked me out was a motorcycle. Must have been a burned out bulb. I thought he wasn't going to survive until daylight.

I think people think they can see, but the lights are also to let other people see you.

I guess if it's light enough for them to see they won't mind me switching to high beams.
