Can't find a manual transmission car to rent- suggestions??

My 23 year old son wants to learn how to drive a manual transmission car but none of the big rental companies have any for hire. I think he has a dream car in mind to buy and it's a manual. All of our vehicles are automatic but my husband and I both know how to drive a stick shift. Any suggestions??? Anyone know of a smaller company that rents out older cars?

Sticks and rentals not a thing that go together. Depending on budget, I would either ask someone you know with a stick to help him learn, or buy a cheapie used car with a stick. One reason I keep the Samurai in the fleet. Easy to learn on, and bulletproof. Girl learned on her $700 Geo Storm, boy learned on the Samurai. What is your sons concern? That he cannot learn? Or that he might not like driving a stick?

Enterprise seems to cater to requests better than Avis/Hertz/Dollar etc. Probably because they started out doing more long term rentals - I know for a long time they did not do "one way" rentals.
