Route 235 Traffic Laws

Route 235 seems to have different traffic laws then the rest of the
State. Here are a few that I've gathered from watching the way
people drive on Three Notch Road.

1. Pickup trucks must ride in the left lane at all times.

2. The right curb lane is to be used to pass slower traffic in the
other three lanes. The only exception is when making a right turn.
Then you must ride in the curb lane at least two miles before
you actually make the turn.

3. When turning onto Route 235 from a side road, you must
change lanes in the middle of the intersection.

4. When stopping on a red signal, you must stop on top of the striped
painted lines. That's what they're there for.

Any more?

5. If you're going slightly above the speed limit on the right lane, the car behind you must overtake you and immediately slow down to the speed limit.

The are no laws on 235, they are made up as operators see fit.

Coming north, cross over route 4 and the traffic in the left lane is dong 40, no reason to be like that. Which makes it hard to get over to make a left.
Because none of the slowpokes were making a left in the first couple of intersections.

6. People coming out of Immaculate heart of Mary church must pull out right in front of a car doing 55 instead of waiting a few seconds.

10. Make sure you're in the left two lanes just before you make a right turn and cuss at people who won't let you in.

11. All Red lights on 235 will be changed to Blue and re-named "Facebook Check Lights."
12. Yellow lights will now be known as "Oh... theres the gas pedal" lights.
13. Solid white and solid yellow lines are optional.

This is not just for 235, this is a SMIB cultural tradition... or something.....

I doubt seriously this is a SMIB thing. It's a transplant thing. The majority of the 235 rush hour traffic is comprised of drivers who were not born and raised here. Of all the people in my work group, only 1 is a county native. I have New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, North Dakota, Nebraska, California, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Georgia, and Baltimore County, MD representing.

but coming out of that church? I see them and I cringe. Stacking up three wide in the crossover, gets pretty scary.

14. Talking on your phone and swerving is completely ok as long as you give the "oops, my bad" wave as you cut into someone's lane and then violently jerk right back over.

Get off the mother ####ing phone and DRIVE. :cds:
