Due to an issue with the English crown and then later a storm, the settlers who first colonized Maryland arrived here to late in the season to build proper houses.
However, with the help of a translator, the English were able to negotiate to rent one of the local villages from the Yaocomico, around the Pagan Point area.
With these rented shelters, the colonist were mostly able to survive the first winter and have time to begin building their own homes in the propriety.
So as the new year begins, remember to check your renters agreement for any changes that might come with it, since those tend to drop on the first
