One thing that might save you time if not money is going with an enamled cast iron pan like I'm doing

Cost a pretty penny, but unlike an acrylic pan, these last forever, just like cast iron tubs. And unlike a formed pan, there is zero chance of a mistake in construction causing a leak. And install time compared to a formed pan is pretty easy, doesn even need a motor base. Simply has to be level.

You can save a bunch of money if you do the demolition yourself. I figured I saved around $5-8K doing my own kitchen demo.

Kohler has some great stuff. Needed a deck-mounted pot filler for the kitchen Island stove. Didn't see anything I liked until I spotted this Kohler unit. WAY WAY more than I wanted to spend, but worth every cent. And I got it for significantly less than the retail price show at Wayfair.com.

I'm confused, water comes out of that?

I go to Home Depot and look at the ends of the aisles for clearance stuff, got all my bathroom and kitchen plumbing that way for over half off.

Agreed. That's the route I decided to go with the current remodel. I had a formed pan previously and as epxected, it developed a leak after a couple of years.

Well, as a DIY, it seemed to be the best intersection on install time, absolute insurance against future failure, and the high end feel we are shooting for in that bathroom.
