    Cool Calvert County

I read hat Calvert County was finally going digital, does any one know if they are going to be encrypted? If so will both Police and Fire both be.

I have heard the same thing, but no timeline on installation and implementation. It is a huge project to do this. Think of all the police cars, handheld radios, the dispatch center, fire trucks, etc.etc. that have to have their gear modified or replaced.

When it happens it is likely that the utility of the scanner service will be very limited.

BTW, an audio cable got unplugged a day or two ago (cat) so there was no sound on the Calvert scanner as a result. Fixed.
