1. Replace Obamacare with – Get the government out of the healthcare industry completely; especially when it comes to dictating that we MUST participate in the health insurance industry.

2. As with Gilligan, is exactly is a ‘jobs bill’? What sort of ‘jobs bill’ have democrats ever proposed? Why is it the responsibility of the government to create jobs?

3. I don’t think the federal government should be dictating how private business is run.

4. Lower taxes. Welfare reform. Get out of the way of small business. It worked in the mid-90s.

The Federal Government has two jobs:
1. Provide for the National Defense
2. Mediate/settle disputes between states

Other than that, they can #### off

In case you weren't aware, that is not an answer to the question. "Get the government out of healthcare" is not a plan.

Wow...that is a really dumb response...just as stupid as Gilligan's (which is to be expected...given his lack of intellectual capacity). A "jobs bill" would fulfill the economic responsibility of government in times of difficulty/weakness. We have a infrastructure that is quickly becoming a laughing stock in the developed world. Our roads and bridges are falling apart, our rail system is outdated and antiquated, our electrical grid is pathetic. You see how this SHOULD work is this: in times of economic difficulty (you know...a financial crisis and the after effects of said crisis are the perfect example)...the govt borrows to build, to maintain and to expand the infrastructure. Simple and easy. Unless you have a bunch of morons running around screaming about deficits and hyperinflation (this would be the people you listen to). The weak economy we have now should be better...we've done essentially nothing since ARRA in 2009.

BTW you failed to answer the question.

3. I don’t think the federal government should be dictating how private business is run.

Maybe you should think as that is a really stupid position. Govt clearly has a role in regulating how businesses operate. Otherwise, you-as a consumer and an employee--would get screwed 10 ways to Sunday every day of the week. BTW...this also is no answer to the question. A proper answer to the minimum wage debate is that the wage should be 1. linked to prevailing LOCAL wages and prices---just like the locality based pay of federal employees and 2. the minimum wage should be indexed to inflation--just like Social Security COLAs...

4. Lower taxes. Welfare reform. Get out of the way of small business. It worked in the mid-90s.

Wow...you posted on the stupid meme...yet failed to answer as single point! Congrats!!

So...taxes were not lowered in the 90s...they were raised. We started the decade with 2 tax brackets...15 and 28%. We ended the decade with 5 tax brackets as we added 31, 36 and 39.6% brackets http://taxfoundation.org/sites/default/files/docs/fed_individual_rate_history_nominal.pdf

How can that be???? An economy GREW while taxes went UP? Gosh...could it be that tax rates really don't dictate economic success? There is no such thing as crowding out? (BTW...lower tax rates in the 80s didn't create the 80s economy...lower interest rates did...lower tax rates helped---they also blew a massive hole in the budget that Reaganites conveniently forget.)

You mean in GOOD time we raised taxes and lowered govt spending...and began paying down the debt?? Gee...that's exactly how it is supposed to work! Govt increases revenues in good times...lowers revenue and increases spending in bad times. This is the basic recipe for smoothing out recessions. It is what we should have been doing for the past 8 years. But too many people like you and those like you are blinded by political propaganda.

People like you who hold contempt for everyone don't deserve any more of a response than to point out your complete mental illness that reinforces your superiority complex.

Makes PERFECT sense to me,...but to the leeches of the "Great Society"...they expect their lives to be supplemented, regulated, attended, in a twisted sort of fascist nanny state.

Tommyjo editing the Republican playbook...

"We started the decade"....oh, you mean under George H W Bush...when he succumbed to Democrats in Congress and broke his "No New Taxes pledge?...so you are saying taxes were low..ok ...during the Republican admin...

"We ended the decade" documenting an abusive jump in taxes,...during...8 years of Bill Clinton right? You mean he didn't veto those nasty Republican bills raising taxes on the middle class?

And Killery wants to put Bill in charge of the economic recovery...sure,...what a great plan.:strangle:

Thanks for recapping why Democrats are bad for America's economy!

So it's the Democrats fault for not stopping Republican tax increases?

This is really tedious. The GOP did not raise taxes:

Contract with America

During the first one hundred days of the 104th Congress, the Republicans pledged "to bring to the floor the following [ten] bills, each to be given a full and open debate, each to be given a clear and fair vote, and each to be immediately available for public inspection." The text of the proposed bills was included in the Contract, which was released prior to the election. These bills were not governmental operational reforms, as the previous promises were; rather, they represented significant changes to policy. They mainly included a balanced budget requirement, tax cuts for small businesses, families and seniors, term limits for legislators, social security reform, tort reform, and welfare reform.

The American Dream Restoration Act

An act to create a $500-per-child tax credit, add a tax credit for couples who pay more taxes in aggregate if they are married than if they were single (but keep in place the fiction of Earned Income Splitting), and creation of American Dream Savings Accounts to provide middle-class tax relief. H.R.1215, passed 246-188, April 5, 1995.

Other sections of the Contract

Other sections of the Contract include a proposed Family Reinforcement Act (tax incentives for adoption, strengthening the powers of parents in their children's education, stronger child pornography laws, and elderly dependent care tax credit) and the Senior Citizens Fairness Act (raise the Social Security earnings limit, repeal the 1993 tax hikes on Social Security benefits and provide tax incentives for private long-term care insurance).

It was Clinton with a Dem controlled congress in his first term that raised taxes; violating his campaign promise to lower taxes.

Obama has done a lot for jobs.
He has closed down coal companies and put miners out of work.
His EPA has driven manufacturing out of the country.
New Ozone regulations will drive out even more.
His Mexican illegals have put America's blacks out of work.
Hiis higher wages have driven automation and will drive it even more.

Some of the other things he has done.
His Cadillac excise tax on high-cost health insurance plans; tax penalties for not purchasing insurance; additional taxes and fees on medical device manufacturers, drug companies and health insurers; a 10 percent tax on indoor tanning services; a 50 percent reduction in allowable flexible spending account (FSA) contributions; and an increase in the threshold required to deduct medical expenses as an itemized deduction. I might add that many companies will not hire in order to stay under the limit that Oabmacare has.

Yes the Democrats have a great record for helping create jobs.
Well he did make a lot more Government jobs by insisting we hire more people to vet Refugees.

Thank you to my forumites for your patience...
Apparently irony was not especially developed with our Libertarian friend.

Let's be direct: NO, the Republicans were NOT in favor of funding Bill Clinton's expanding government with more taxes.
Bill enjoyed the inherited economy of lower taxes and a tech bubble...neither can be credited to his brilliance. (Satire)
He then raised taxes prompting Newt's Contract With America...and lost in the midterms (AGAIN).

Then Bush came along, and the whole thing got blown out of the water.
