First let me say thank you to those who have answered past questions. It has made the transition to the St Mary's/Pax River NAS area much easier.

I am looking for a general practitioner who also can and will if need be take an holistic approach. I have been supposedly dealing with Lyme disease for over a decade. I say that because several doctors argue over it. Also Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I am looking for one who will take the time to actually look at my records and open to figuring out what the heck is going on with me. Thank you.

No comment on your issues.
I swore at one time I would not go to the Shah Associates.
Was kind of forced into that because I needed a specialist and one came highly recommended.

I ended up going to a Dr. in the internal medicine group as my primary physician. It works well, they all see test results and prescriptions written.
I feel that any specialist and my GP are on the same page. They are also affiliated with St. Mary's Hospital

Welcome to the forums. It's hard to find a Doctor that deals with both holistic, and regular medicine. But I know they're out there. Good luck in your search.

Thank you. Yes they are hard to find. Even if I could find one that did not fight against me using a mix of Holistic and conventional. I could deal.

I've been really happy with Dr. Cheryl Shaw in Leonardtown. Every time I've gone in for an issue she's looked for the root of the problem rather than just prescribing drugs and shooing me out the door.

Her office also runs pretty close to actual appointment times.

You need to look for a doctor with a DO at the end of thier name. They go through the same training, same final exam and same recidencies as regualr medical doctors but they go a step further and look at the body as a whole. If that makes sense. This might help

This will help you find a DO around your area.

Here are some doctors close to California, MD

Carol Boehm Calvert Physicians group 410-326-6344.
There will be a new DO starting at Calvert Physicians Group this week. I forget her name, but she will be there I think three times a week. This is in the Solomon's area, at the foot of the bridge. Same building as the Urgent Care.
