Dark Water In Master Bathroom

.....in the toilet, to be specific. Flushed, and it filled back up with more dark water. D*mned if I know what caused it. And no, there was no "biologicals" in the bowl. Sediment in the water tank maybe?

Age of toilet? Is the toilet rarely used? And when you say dark color, is it like a rust color, or more towards black?

Take top off tank, look inside. Should be a simple lift. Flush a few more times. Turn valve off under toilet, flush again, inspect tank. Turn valve on, watch water coming in.

If the answer is 'no', then I would suspect the black rubber gaskets breaking down.

Are you on city sewage or septic? If septic, you outside tank may be full and backing up into the house.

If it were that backed up, the toilet would not flush, it would overflow.

Just got back from just a tad over a month on the west coast, so the water in the system stagnated, I guess. House has a well, vice city/pool water.

Weird, but good. Septics are such a pain in the ass; so to speak. Good to see you post. I hope you are doing well (no pun intended).
