Citizens seeking a unique way of reviewing the work of county departments during the past fiscal year can view the 2016 St. Mary's State of the County Video Report.

The video details activities, events and projects ongoing and completed from July 2015 to present. Highlights of the video include an overview of the FY17 county budget and updates on construction projects.

"The one thing viewers will notice about this year's video is that it has a much quicker pace," said Tony Jones, St. Mary's County public information officer and video host. "This will provide a visual glance of all of the important work completed or in progress around the county."

The 2016 video took just over three months to produce and marks the fourth year a video report the St. Mary's County Public Information Office has featured.

The 2016 State of the County Video Report is available for online viewing in a number of places. Citizens can go to the Public Information Office's web page at http://www.stmarysmd.com/pio/. Simply scroll down the page to the View current and past State of the County Reports section. The 2016 video can be selected from the drop down menu in the left column labeled 2016 – State of the County Video. The video is also available on the county's YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/StMarysCoMDGov/videos or on the homepage of the county's website at www.stmarysmd.com.

Citizens can also access a State of the County Executive Summary. To view or download the document click the State of the County Executive Summaries drop down column next to the video column on the PIO web page and select 2016 State of the County Executive Summary.
