Update: SMCSO Criminal Investigations Division Investigating Home Invasion Burglary

Update: Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing their investigation into a home invasion burglary which occurred on Sunday October 2, in California Maryland. They are asking citizens to please view the following composite sketch of the suspect, created with the assistance of the Charles County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned (possibly Hispanic) male in his 20's, approximately 5'5" to 5'7" with a slim build and short dark hair. Additionally, the suspect may have utilized a bicycle to flee the scene.

Original Release: SMCSO Criminal Investigations Division Investigating Home Invasion Burglary

On Sun., Oct. 2, 2016, at approximately 2:45 AM deputies responded to a private residence near Old Rolling Road in California, Maryland, for a reported home invasion burglary. Initial investigation revealed an adult female victim was awoken in the middle of the night and assaulted by an unknown male intruder. A prolonged struggle with the suspect occurred inside the residence during which the suspect produced a weapon. The victim fled the residence along with her juvenile child and contacted 911.
