Trump, Leaked Tax Return

So...... if this is true, why didn't he say so at the debate, rather than let Hillary get away with the 'no taxes paid' speech? Maybe he truly has no idea what is in his taxes and cannot refute? Or simply doesn't care? Or this is a Republican propaganda ploy?

Probably because, well, he did. And, as usual, he exaggerated (at least, if we're talking just federal taxes on personal income)

Trump said:
Now, the taxes are a very simple thing. As soon as I have — first of all, I pay hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes. Many of her friends took bigger deductions. Warren Buffett took a massive deduction. Soros, who’s a friend of hers, took a massive deduction. Many of the people that are giving her all this money that she can do many more commercials than me gave her — took massive deductions.

I pay hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes. But — but as soon as my routine audit is finished, I’ll release my returns. I’ll be very proud to. They’re actually quite great.

He did. But the dogpiling from the media, the Democrats, and the GOP drowned him out.

He said several times since this lie started making the rounds that he has paid millions in taxes.

As for the debate, when you are being bombarded with 8 million crazy accusations it's difficult to address every single one of them in 2 minutes.

Well, yes and no. He made a few counters, but when she said he hadn't paid any taxes, he said it was good business, smart to be able to not pay taxes, and kind of agreed with her while he puffed up about it.

And Trump will need to unload this in the next debate, showing even further what a liar Clinton is.

I'm thinking Trump really doesn't know what his tax situation is. It's my thought that wealthy businessmen like him let accountants do that job. Of course, he should have conferred with his accountants to get answers on this. That's what makes me think this whole 'audit' thing was a stall tactic; for reasons I can't understand if he knew he paid taxes. The only thing I can think of is there is something else in his taxes he doesn't want us to see.

That was the debate. He has said in numerous speeches that he indeed has paid out millions in taxes. His story has been consistent, unlike the Hillary campaign who gets caught in a blatant lie about him and just rolls over it onto the next lie.

OMG, can we freaking stop???

Good grief. You people and your wild conspiracy theories. There is no reason on earth for you think think that, so if that's the only thing you can think...perhaps your thinker needs a tuneup.

This is what I think also. I think that he knows if he releases them Hilary's team will have specialists going through every line looking for things out of place or wrong then they'll pounce.

You can't tell me that you don't think if he released them that hilarys team wouldn't go through every letter of them to look for something out of place... mistakes happen and that's what she's counting on.

I'm sure her team of hyenas would find some insignificant thing and blow it all out of proportion. I believe Psy is suggesting that there will be some major irregularity.

Pffft. Even poor businessmen like me are 100% reliant on skilled accountants to get the taxes done. I'm a nervous wreck every year when it comes time to wait for the draft returns come back for my review.

VEI is a small business with two employees, therefore I know exactly what our tax situation is because I do the books. Trump is an enormous corporate entity with many levels and subsidiaries, so I'm pretty sure Donald Trump himself doesn't do his own books and they have a team of accountants employed for that purpose.

So it's entirely probable that he doesn't know exactly what is in every line item in his personal OR corporate tax return until he gets it back from the accountants.

So what?

exactly. So I think its a good thing he doesn't. Just like Cooper trying to bait him at the debate "so to be clear you've never done/said this or that" trying to pin him down so then they can find something insignificant that they can twist or manipulate to contradict him.

I'm no fan of trump...but I absolutely hate Clinton.
