‘Gay Thought Police’ Like Soviet-Era Bullies

One of the core beliefs of the movement for LGBT equality has always been that anti-gay bullying, especially of young people, must end. And yet, in recent days, thousands of online comments and threats from LGBT people have been directed against two young gay men who expressed their opinions about the current presidential race.

Lainhart said he works in the steel industry, and is “tired of the bullsh*t government. Time for a change. Trump’s the man for it.” Moore added he believes Trump “would bring more jobs to the country.”

That was essentially the entire substance of the interview, which has provoked an astonishing backlash. Hundreds of thousands of online views have led to thousands of comments, most of them furious with Lainhart and Moore, who have been ridiculed as “hillbilly morons” and “rednecks.”

In a followup report, the couple told Bellini they “have received death threats from gay people warning them not to leave their house or go to any gay clubs. One message to them, they say, told them to drink bleach.”

Because it is ALWAYS about power. That means solidarity, numbers, and the necessity to punish members who seem to threaten the first two....

Ain't no different than right wing zealots. I'm telling you people. We have far more in common with one another than we do with trump or Hillary or Obama or dubbya or any of them. When we realize that, come to grips with it and embrace it, that's when we have a chance.

right because the loudest group screaming for acceptance and tolerance is the most intolerant

All that is is a detail. For every idiot statement on the left there is equal and opposite idiocy from the right including plenty of similar totalitarian impulses. When the majority of reasonable people disregard the minority who make their daily bread on dividing us, we begin to win.

Tuesday, December 5, 2017. That was the day the Internet claimed adult film actress August Ames. The actress, born Mercedes Grabowski, hanged herself following days of accusations of homophobia after she tweeted about canceling a shoot upon discovering that the man involved had shot gay porn.

Apparently, it wasn’t her body, her choice. If it were, the online salvo would’ve been condemned rather than amped. For a convenient timeline, check @WeWuzMetokur’s Twitter feed (gross trolling and graphic content warning). Regardless, some who participated in the public lynching that led to her suicide have no remorse.

August Ames Didn’t Have To Die Over Accusations Of Homophobia
Were August Ames merely run out of a job, we wouldn’t be talking about it—because that has become pretty commonplace. We got our sacrifice. And now it’s bigger.

2 thoughts ....

1. harassing someone until the kill themselves or leave the medium of conversation how tolerant
2. people only have power over your that you give them ....
