Hillary Clinton’s Team to Join Wisconsin Recount Pushed by Jill Stein

The Clinton campaign held out little hope of success in any of the three states, and said it had seen no “actionable evidence” of vote hacking that might taint the results or otherwise provide new grounds for challenging Donald J. Trump’s victory. But it suggested it was going along with the recount effort to assure supporters that it was doing everything possible to verify that hacking by Russia or other irregularities had not affected the results.

In a post on Medium, Marc Elias, the Clinton team’s general counsel, said the campaign would take part in the Wisconsin recount being set off by Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, and would also participate if Ms. Stein made good on her plans to seek recounts in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Mrs. Clinton lost those three states by a total of little more than 100,000 votes, sealing her Electoral College defeat by Mr. Trump.

In Wisconsin, Mr. Trump leads by 22,177 votes. In Michigan, he has a lead of 10,704 votes, and in Pennsylvania, his advantage is 70,638 votes.

Mr. Elias suggested in his essay that the Clinton campaign was joining the recount effort with little expectation that it would change the result. But many of the campaign’s supporters, picking up on its frequent complaints of Russian interference in the election, have enthusiastically backed Ms. Stein’s efforts, putting pressure on the Clinton team to show that it is exploring all options.

Mr. Elias used his essay to describe an intensive behind-the-scenes effort by the campaign to look for signs of Russian hacking activity or other irregularities in the vote count.

I'm not sure what Stein [Clinton Shill] is hopping to accomplish 10 ECV is not going to make H a Winner .... and she raised way more than was needed to pay for the recount

“Since the day after the election, we have had lawyers and data scientists and analysts combing over the results to spot anomalies that would suggest a hacked result,” Mr. Elias wrote.

Still cannot understand why she lost .... well I guess the DNC could have spend the last 2 weeks creating 25,000 fake absentee ballots

What is the logic in a third party contesting the count in any of these states? It's not as though ANY change in the number will make a difference for their candidate.

H stands back looking blameless

... I didn't do it, but look what we found RUSSIAN Hackers

It's a win for Hillary - but what is Jill Stein's dog in the fight? How is it her business to see if Hillary gets another shot?

You notice they don't contest states HILLARY won narrowly, like New Hampshire or Nevada.

I'm not sure, but I posted a couple days ago, she has raised over 5 million from disaffected Hillary Voters .... way more then needed for a recount - unless you are going to court and need to pay lawyers

You notice they don't contest states HILLARY won narrowly, like New Hampshire or Nevada.

of course not .... this is about the Russian Hacker Story and Trump

UPDATE: JOHN BONIFAZ, WHO HAS CONNECTIONS TO GEORGE SOROS, IS NOW REPRESENTING JILL STEIN IN RECOUNT EFFORT

According to CBS News – Jill Stein raises $4 million for 3-state recount effort:

“I believe in the democratic process and I believe that we need to verify the vote regardless of who the winner was declared on election night. It may turn out that it doesn’t change the result of the election, but it’s a healthy process to engage in democracy,” Bonifaz says.

There has been no comment from the Clinton camp on the calls for recounts.

Bonifaz says he approached Clinton first about recounts, but with no decision made, he approached Stein instead. The only comment from President-elect Donald Trump’s team has been a tweet from spokeswoman Kellyanne Conway, saying, “look who can’t accept the election results,” referring to Clinton supporters.

Stein’s Recount May Prevent WI, PA, MI Votes From Being Counted by Electoral College

According to Inquisitr:

The statewide recount in the presidential election would require a recount of nearly twice as many ballots — about 3 million — and the process would become even more cumbersome if Stein is successful in requiring a recount by hand, as she has said she prefers.

If the proposed Wisconsin recount is not completed on time, the state’s 10 Electoral College votes could be rendered void. In that scenario, Trump would be left with 296 electoral votes, which is still 26 more than the 270 needed to win the presidency.

But two other states, Michigan and Pennsylvania, where Stein plans to demand a recount could cause even more severe turmoil.

So the situation is actually much worse than most people think.

Stein may successfully strip Trump of the electoral votes of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. If so, it’ll be up to Congress to decide whether they include the votes or not.

You’re letting them distract you. IT ISN’T THE VOTES. The goal is to the nullify the electoral votes by making the states miss the deadline. https://t.co/KACEVja6eD

Does Hillary really think this will get her elected .... or is she just trying to be as big a dick as possible

The Latest: Wisconsin officials to set timeline for recount

The recount comes at the request of Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who says it's important to determine whether hacking may have affected the results. Stein says she also plans to request recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan.

President-elect Donald Trump narrowly won Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and has a small lead in Michigan.

There's no evidence voter results were hacked or electronic voting machines were compromised.

While Hillary Clinton's campaign formally joined Stein's Wisconsin recount effort, a lawyer for the Democratic campaign has said there is "no actionable evidence" of an altered outcome.

Wisconsin officials say it will be tough to finish the recount by the federally required deadline of Dec. 13.

Stein withdrew the recount request in Pennsylvania, and Michigan certified their votes. Too bad, so sad

The Recount Road to Nowhere

This is classic conspiracy logic: the absence of evidence is evidence of just how insidious it is. The failure of an event to turn out as expected is presented as evidence of some hidden hand at work, some deliberate interference. But did something go wrong in 2012, when Obama beat the polls’ expectations? Polls differ from one another; that is why candidates campaign in small towns in swing states, or why they should. It has been widely noted that Clinton did not visit Wisconsin in the general election. The results may have been “surprising,” but they are not mysterious. There were other late factors that may not have been accounted for in the polls: the F.B.I.’s ill-timed announcement about the Clinton e-mail investigation; the revelations about the Clinton Foundation in those hacked Podesta e-mails; and the decision of the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, of Wisconsin, to campaign openly for Trump, and not just for House candidates, as he had done earlier. Similarly, the Republican National Committee’s data operation—which, despite all the stories about Trump’s supposed isolation, was fully deployed in his favor—seems to have done a pretty good job figuring out where to send him in the final days, and the candidate, hungry for crowds, went. Trump, when self-mythologizing about his win, talks about a final rally he added, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which ended in the early-morning hours of Election Day itself. (“This doesn’t feel like second place.”) He may be right about that. Demographics are essential, but the practice of politics matters, too. One doesn’t want to pile on to Clinton; she has suffered a devastating loss at the hands of an unworthy man. Ultimately, though, a failure to face up to the flaws in her campaign is leading to some dark places, full of the plotting of foreign agents. And in many states, anyway, the difference between the polls and the final results was within the margin of error: this is why, days before the election, Nate Silver gave Trump close to a one-in-three chance of winning. And, as the Obama Administration confirmed this weekend, there is no sign of interference in the balloting. The Administration said in a statement, “We stand behind our election results, which accurately reflect the will of the American people.”

Flashback: George Soros Financed Hillary Clinton’s Recount Lawyer Marc Elias

The lawyer representing Hillary Clinton’s recount efforts recently led legal battles against state voting laws with an infusion of funding from billionaire George Soros.

On Saturday, Marc Elias, the Clinton team’s general counsel, announced Clinton’s campaign would participate in Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s recount effort in Wisconsin. Elias also said the Clinton campaign would participate if Stein decides to pursue recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan.

Elias is a senior lawyer at the Perkins Coie law firm, which also represents Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee.

In July, the New York Times reported Soros had pledged up to $5 million for a legal fight led by Elias against what the newspaper characterized as “restrictive voting laws enacted in recent years by Republican-controlled state governments.”
