I've really never done either but I want to know ---

Is it possible to configure Skype or a webcam to show a video that isn't - live?
As in, take a video of yourself and play it while you're Skyping or running a webcam?

Just spitballin' here, but if you're using Skype or even a webcam to webcam connection; without Skype; say you're using YAHOO Messenger, you might have to send the not live video as a file. You would still be connected video to video, so you can see who you're talking to; the person on the other end would just have to open said file.
