But OMG that water is cold, glacial melt if I remember correctly. In one campground in Yellowstone there was a hot spring fed hole right next to the river you could go from 106 degrees to 33 degrees in four steps.

wtf do you do when you get out into that 30 degree air ?
run for a camp fire ?

If the water is hot enough, you actually stay warm for quite a while. A bunch of us went into the geothermal pools in Iceland during a snowstorm.
