Our illustrious new President had a helluva a first day....well day and a half I guess.
First there was that horrid speech before a comparatively empty Mall. Where were all the diehard Trump supporters? All the "tens of millions" who supported him at rallies (by beating up those who had different opinions)? All we were told all week long was about the throngs of people coming from around the country...where were they? The bikers who were going to be a "wall of meat"? Oh...we did get treated to the wonderful supporters who chanted "Lock her up" when Ms. Clinton arrived and who yelled "Trump! Trump! Trump!" during Mr. Schumer's speech. How American...how patriotic...what a wonderful way to introduce our new President to the world stage.
Then he goes to the CIA and makes another horrid and, yes, deplorable, set of remarks before a wall that honors those who gave their lives for the country...people who lost their lives in anonymity. Instead of honoring them...hell instead of even referring to them...our great pompous ass decides it is appropriate to lie about how many people showed up at the inaugural, lies about his tweets regarding the US intelligence community, what the weather was like and what the reviews of his speech were like. Now maybe some will see it as ironic that the President stood in the CIA and lied....but those will be the ones who refuse to see reality of what Mr. Trump is.
While he was at the CIA, protestors filled the street to stand in opposition to Mr. Trump's words. This was not some organized band of malcontent breaking windows who were out on Friday. This was families, people of all races and religions, men and women who came out for no reason other than to make their voices heard. This wasn't just some dope smoking kum-bi-yah crowd beating drums and chanting on the Ellipse. No this was people in all 50 states...some crowds were massive...this was people around the world...though not surprisingly there were no marches in Russia. Was that because protest marches are forbidden or because they are still laughing so hard at the election of Mr. Trump that they can't get off the floor?
Then to close yesterday, there was the wonderfully eloquent statement by Mr. Spicer. Does he reach out to the protestors? Does he reach out to the world? Does he do anything to calm things down. Nope. He instead channels the master he serves by being bitter, angry and lying.
What a day. What a buffoon.
You all who voted for him must be just so proud.
