Democratic Obstruction on Trump Cabinet Reaches Historic Levels
Confirmation process moving slowest since George Washington admin

The continuing obstruction of even uncontroversial cabinet choices is being driven by demands from the liberal base of the Democratic Party, which is demanding that Democratic lawmakers not cooperate with Trump on anything.

"Democrats, pushed by their base, are under pressure to not cooperate with the new president—on anything," wrote the Wall Street Journal following reports that Democrats boycotted committee hearings for multiple nominees.

"Gone are the concerns about appearing overly obstructionist," Politico reported. "Officeholders are now chasing a base that will not tolerate any sign of accommodation."

The White House has complained that Democrats are "working overtime" to stop the administration from putting qualified nominees in place at agencies.

The Partnership for Public Progress, a nonpartisan group that promotes public service, has said the slow pace of confirmations is damaging the country.

He's waited exactly as long as you have, not a single day. They were told ahead of time that the party that is in power that no judgeships were going to be entertained, making what BO did only a show with no qualitative value.

Judge Garland shouldn't have been waiting for a vote. Judge Garland was told no vote would come, and should have continued on with his life. The constitution requires the Senate to advise and consent; they advised not to nominate anyone and they did not consent to Judge Garland.

US workers have been waiting for probably 8-9 years for a good infrastructure package. Seems we were told there were a lot of "shovel-ready" jobs, but none of them happened. Why would that be? Was it incompetence of the previous administration after a good deal of time in office to fix things up?

The workers have been waiting 8 years thanks to the Magic Negro. What did he do for infrastructure, His shovel ready jobs was a joke.
As for Garland the Republicans made the right choice.

IMO the republicans should stop playing around, use the Nuclear option that Harry Reid gave them and add a KMA to each vote.

I may be going out on a limb here but isn't the GOP in control of the US Senate? If people want to blame the Dems for delaying confirmations, it's because the GOP controlled Senate rules are allowing it to happen.
