It seems clear that most Maryland voters voted for their preferred party rather than the presidential candidate in the 2016 election.

Bull####. St Mary's County has more Democrats than Republicans and went for Trump We also went against Hoyer/.
Residents had a bellyful of Obama and Hillary.---------------and Hoyer.
St. Mary's County went for the candidate.

Nope... there's almost 30K registered Republicans and just over 26K registered Democrats in St. Mary's (and a little over 15K Independent/Other). link
