Religiously Set

How many people are called by Paul’s good news message today? Everyone. You see, God doesn’t have to give an unbeliever a special kind of faith, some would call it saving faith. Is it the luck of the draw or is it an all-inclusive call? Some people think God calls outside of or independently of his Word. Is it the message God’s ambassadors are to be proclaiming or does he call people through adverse situations or does he call people through troubling circumstances that he brings into people’s lives today in order to get their attention and bring them to believe in what was accomplished by his son? Put simply, God is desirous that all people be saved and come to the truth, but God has not pre-determined that he will cause anybody to believe Paul’s good news message. The decision to believe has been left to those with whom God has given choice. When Paul refers to us as the called, he’s referring not just to the fact that God is extending a call to us...an invitation or summons. He’s also referring to the fact that God’s calling us to participate in that to which we’ve been called, namely the Body of the Savior. Participation in that which we’ve been called to.

The sin issue became a son issue. There can be no further payment for sin as that payment was made by Jesus. The only question that remains today is who will believe in the justice resolving accomplishment of Jesus. If you take your stand where God takes his stand that Jesus put away your sins (2 Corinthians 5:21) but Satan would rather people have their minds “religiously set” on believing something different.
