Victim(s)/Injuries: Griffin was pronounced deceased at the scene by Prince George's County EMS Personnel.

Disposition: Prince George's County, Medical Examiner A. Teague responded. The body was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner's Office, Baltimore, Maryland.
Narrative: On April 28, 2017 at approximately 12:04 am, Troopers were dispatch to southbound Rt. 301 / Crain Highway at Village Drive for a single vehicle accident with airbags deployed. When Troopers arrived at the scene they observed a red Dodge Challenger with heavy damage, on the southbound portion of Crain Highway facing west. Contact with EMS was made and Troopers were advised the driver, "Griffin" was pronounced deceased on scene at 12:18 am. Requests were made for the Reconstruction Team and the Medical Examiner office. The northbound and southbound portion of Crain Highway from Marlboro Pike to Village Drive was closed until the investigation was completed. Debris from the severe collision was cast into the northbound lanes. All lanes were reopened at 3:20 am. There was no effect to traffic as it was being diverted around the scene and the traffic was very light due to the hour. All events occurred in Prince George's County, Maryland.
Note: Mr. Griffin was a member of the Navy, currently assigned to Ft. Meade, NSA. Special Agent A. Burton, Security Duty Officer was contacted. Chief Jacob Turner followed up the contact. Next of Kin notification will be made by the military. The actual address was being verified by Navy Personnel.
