Now, Trump is going after another equally pathetic program -- Let Girls Learn, according to CNN.

The Trump administration is discontinuing a signature girls education initiative championed by former first lady Michelle Obama, according to officials.
The "Let Girls Learn" program, which she and President Barack Obama started in 2015 to facilitate educational opportunities for adolescent girls in developing countries, will cease operation immediately, according to an internal document obtained by CNN.

While aspects of the initiative's programming will continue, employees have been told to stop using the "Let Girls Learn" name and were told that, as a program unto itself, "Let Girls Learn" was ending.

"Moving forward, we will not continue to use the 'Let Girls Learn' brand or maintain a stand-alone program," read an email sent to Peace Corps employees this week by the agency's acting director Sheila Crowley.​

The program is perhaps noble sounding, but it is run by a host of government agencies, all of which draw taxpayer funding. "Contributing agencies included the Peace Corps, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the State Department, among others. As of the end of last year, it boasted $1 billion in financial backing," reported New York magazine. Well, "taxpayer" backing.

Yes...yes...let's not spend $1 billion on a "bloated" program to help young girls learn so they can stay and be productive in their own country...let's spend $20 billion and billions more annually on a wall that will do little to keep them out of our country!! Yeah...that makes sense...in the mentality of a 7 year old...like that of our current President.

Not sure why we're getting financially and politically involved in the educational workings of foreign countries when there are issues that need our attention at home. I also was never sure what exactly Michelle hoped to accomplish with her little program, besides wave it around to her progbot fan club. If these "developing countries" don't want their females educated, I'm pretty sure they aren't going to change their mind just because Michelle started a program.

If you're going to do something for "developing countries" you should hope to educate boys AND girls. Frankly, boys are bigger and stronger and more capable of being productive in terms of building infrastructure and producing food. Not sure how teaching girls to be "empowered" helps these countries.
